AUDACITY! (Barack Obama Save Us)

about

FREE TRACK!! I recorded this, I think, sometime between Barack Obama's election and his inauguration, late 2008/early 2009. The Bush years were scary, and there was so much uncertainty and worry for the future by the time of the election. I don't think it's too much of an exageration to save that Obama did indeed "save us," even with all of the opposition he got from Republicans, conservatives, and racists. I would gladly take another four years, particularly with the vile creature who is slated to take his place next month. He will be missed. Thank you, Mr. President.

lyrics

No actual lyrics to this song per se - this is obviously adapted from the `80s hit single "Rock Me, Amadeus." The speech excerpts are from Barack Obama's 2004 convention speech, the first time most Americans became aware of him. Watching that speech, I knew he would be our president someday - though I didn't expect that to be 2008.

All instruments and "vocals" by "DJ Snooky B" (Bryan Eldridge Hurst). Spoken word excerpts by Barack Obama. Original musical inspiration: "Rock Me, Amadeus" by Falco. Produced, recorded and mastered by BEH. (The origin of the cover art, the "Know Hope" photo, is unknown by me - should the person who created it see this, please accept my apology for not crediting the photo, and if you prefer me to remove it I will. But it's a GREAT photo, and perfect for this song and this time.)
